Organizations Protecting the Coast of Louisiana:

• Sept 2002 Louisiana Oyster Spat Test Project, The project used  6 mini-balls and 2 of the new oyster shell aggregate finished oyster balls and
  conducted spat set tests in coastal Louisiana.  The tests assessed various material types for our soon-to-come marsh/shore protection project.  The tests have been completed and reefballs were “the winner” (having the most oyster spat per unit surface area).
